I expect you are very busy working on the Faritany project and hope everything is coming along smoothly. Actually, the reason why I'm writing to you is because I need your expert guidance with a project I am currently planning. I'll be going to Belize next year, not as a member of the archaeological crew but as its project administrator. Since I’ve never held a position like this before, I’d really appreciate it if you could assist me regarding the preparations that my staff and I have to make before the excavation in January. I know you have led many such expeditions, and I am hoping you may be able to provide some insight concerning the planning stages of my project.I’m attaching a tentative schedule for the project and a brief outline of our goals and what we hope to accomplish during the given time. Please have a look at them and let me know if you think we've scheduled enough time to meet our goals. Any suggestions you could give me would be very welcome. Also, I am interested in knowing what particular supplies we will need to bring, especially in regard to equipment. Thanks in advance, and I’ll be waiting for your reply.Anthony To: Anthony Dixon <dixony@leeland.com>From: Lauren Crawford <lcraw@double.net>Date: October 16 Subject: Re: A favorHello Anthony,So far, everything’s been going smoothly here in Madagascar and we’re ahead of schedule with the Faritany project. It's a lot of hard work, but the results we've seen so far are promising.Anyway, I'm sure you'll do a great job as a project administrator. It can be challenging at first, but I think your knowledge of archaeological sites will really help you with the project. But before you begin your excavation in Belize, make sure you have all the required permits from the local government. I’ve had some difficulties with this before, so make certain that all your documents are in order before you proceed with anything. Also, you and your staff will need on-site access to both shelter and toilet facilities for convenience purposes. It will definitely make your work on the site more comfortable, and I would make arrangements for those facilities before leaving for Belize. You will need Internet access, but don’t expect 24-hour service as the connections aren’t very reliable. And make sure to bring a couple of small power generators for recharging mobile phones, computers, and other equipment. Of course you will also need to develop safe working procedures for your team to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.I had a look at the schedule and outline you sent me, and it seems like you've allotted the perfect amount of time to finish the projectGood luck and keep me updated on your project.Lauren
