Lesson 8 Introducing oneself to a new colleague
【Situation
Pleased toPleased to
meet you"Pleased to. (美国英语中,通常用美国英语中,通常用"Pleased toNice to meet you"Pleased to )。
Pleased toOut in the sticks"Pleased to 之类的字眼,这是一种非正是的
而“Have you been……?”
I've been to Spain, though."Pleased to 这时,
护士 2 接着问:“Where did you go?”

No-I'm glad to get away. You can get tired of big cities, you know-all those
people, all the traffic, the rush hour. I could have gone to London instead
of here, but I didn't want to-not just yet.
A: No, I suppose not. I don't London, myself.
B: Have you ever been, you know-to Madrid?”

got Sitges and places like that to work in?
A: Well, I want to see the world a bit while I'm still young. Plus, I'd like
to learn some English-and get some professional hospital experience. This
is my first proper post.
B: Well, you'll get plenty of experience in this job. We're very busy-all
the time. Permanently. Rushed off our feet, sometimes.

I'm worse in fact.
Pleased toLet me ask you a few questions, just to see
if we've missed something, or to see if you've left anything out."Pleased to (美国英语中,通常用我再问

minute…… I see you've been coming to us once a month for some time.
Would you say that's about right?”
Patient: Yes, something like that. that's about how often I've been
coming to see you. And I don't seem to be getting any better. I'm worse in
fact. I just don't seem to be making any progress at all.
