 　　47.despair，desperation ，hopelessness 这组词都含“绝望”之意。

　　despair：“失望. 沮丧、绝望” 强调失去希望后感到的失望或绝望，暗含灰心丧气的意思，不可数名词，但可用the despair of sb. 表示“令人没有希望的人或物”。

　　He was filled with despair as his enemies crowded round him.当敌人四面包围他时，他满怀绝望。

　　desperation ：“绝望、孤注一掷”，指面对预料中的失败，以不顾任何后果、不理智的方式作为最后抗争或努力的手段。

　　He had no job and no money, and in desperation robbed the bank. “他既无工作又无钱，因而在绝望中抢劫银行。”

　　hopelessness：“绝望，无望”，指完全失去或放弃希望并不打算再作努力，甘愿忍受任何结果。
