 　　42. apparatus, appliance, equipment, facilities, implement, instrument, utensil这组词都有“设备、器具”的意思。

　　apparatus：“器械、仪器、工具装置、仪表” 指某种职业及工作所用的仪器、工具装备或体育、娱乐活动所用的器械和设备。

　　This apparatus can purify a thousand gallons of water a minute.这个装置每分钟能净化一千加仑水。

　　appliance：“器具”，常用其复数形式，指用手操纵，但往往采用外部能源，尤其是电源的器具或装置。

　　It will be very expensive to equip your kitchen with a set of first-class modern electrical appliances. “要给你的厨房装配一套一流的现代化电器，费用将相当昂贵。”
