　　aim，goal，objective，purpose 这组词都有“目标、目的”之意。

　　aim ：“目的、目标”，是指清楚地确定下来，并愿为它的实现而付出努力或精力的事情。

　　My aim of going to England is to improve my knowledge of the language. 我去英国的目的是为了提高我的英语水平。

　　goal：“目标、目的”，强调自己而不是别人确定的，必须经过坚持不懈努力和艰苦的奋斗才能达到或完成。有时，也指一般倾向，并不含有最后的结果。

　　She had always wanted to have her own house , and now she had obtained her goal. 她总是希望能有一所自己的房子，现在终于如愿以偿了。

　　objective ：“目的、目标”，表示具体、直接或很快可以达到的目标，不可用于军事用语来表示“攻击目标”。

　　The immediate objective of this project is flood control，its ultimate objective is the conservation of water power. 这项工程的近期目标是防洪，最终目的是保护水力。

　　purpose：“目的、计划、意图”。
