    Today's average car contains more than 15，000 separate, individual parts that mustwork together. Fig. 1. 2 shows the major systems of a vehicle. These parts can groupedinto the following major categories：

    ．Engine一provides dependable, efficient power for the vehicle

    ．Computer systems一monitor and control various vehicle systems

    ．Fuel system一provides a combustible air-fuel mixture to power the engine
