1、青奥会
原文:青年奥林匹克运动会是专为全世界青年人设立的综合体育赛事。第二届夏季青年奥林匹克运动会于2014年8月16日至28日在南京举行。本届青奥会的口号是“分享青春 共筑未来”;寓意全世界青年人在奥林匹克精神感召下,欢聚一堂,相互切磋,相互鼓励,增进友谊,共同成长。吉祥物创意来自雨花石,意为提倡自然、运动、健康、快乐的生活方式;会徽将南京明城墙城门和江南民居轮廓组合在一起,勾勒出“NANJING”字样,寓意青春之门。

3、端午节
原文:端午节(Dragon Boat Festival)是中国的传统节日之一,为每年农历五月初五。它与春节、清明节和中秋节并称为中国汉族的四大传统节日。端午节的来源有多种说法,但最被人们接受的是为了纪念著名爱国诗人屈原。这一天的习俗有吃粽子、赛龙舟、喝雄黄酒(realgar wine)等。从2008年起,端午节正式列入国家法定节日,这既有助于弘扬传统文化,又能适应人们的需要。

4、中秋节

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar month. It is a time for family members to congregate and enjoy the full moon, which is a symbol of abundance, harmony and luck. Adults usually indulge in fragrant mooncakes of various kinds with a good cup of hot Chinese tea, while the children run around with their brightly-lit rabbit lanterns. The festival was endowed a mythological flavour with legends of Chang-E, the beautiful lady in the moon. According to Chinese mythology, the earth once had 10 suns circling over it. Hou Yi, shot down 9 of the suns to save all the lives on carth. He stole the elixir of life, which can make people immortal. However, his wife, Chang-E drank it. 5、春节
原文:春节是中国最盛大的传统节日,也叫“过年”。除夕夜里,全家人聚在一起吃丰盛的团圆饭,包饺子、放鞭炮、贴春联、看春晚……迎接新的一年到来。大年初一早上,孩子们穿着新衣服,跟着父母去拜年。长辈们往往发给孩子们一些压岁钱,祝福他们又长了一岁。春节是一个家人团聚的日子,离家在外的孩子都要回家。一家老少欢聚团圆,共享天伦之乐。

Spring Festival, also called “Celebrating Lunar New Year”, is the grandest traditional festival in China. On the eve of Spring Festival, the whole family gather together to have a wonderful family reunion dinner, making dumplings, setting off firecrackers , putting up Spring Festival couplets and watching Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the coming of the new year. On the first morning of Spring Festival, children, in their new clothes, follow their parents to pay New Year’s visits. Elders often give children some “gift money”, blessing them as they are a year older. Spring Festival is a period for family members to reunite when grown children away from home all return home. All family members, old and young, gather together to enjoy the happiness of the family reunion.
