英语教案《Earthquakes 听说课》
Knowledge aim:
Students will learn the structure of speech and enjoy some famous speeches.
Ability aims:
Students can know how to give a speech and their speaking ability will have a great improvement.
Emotional aim:
Students will enjoy giving a speech and like to express their feeling by speech
Teaching Key Difficult Points:
Key points: Students can use the words and expression to give a speech .
Difficult point: Students can express their feeling through the intonation in the process of speaking.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warming up
Show several pictures about disasters including fire, hurricane, typhoon, tsunami, earthquake and ask students to talk about their feeling by asking the following questions:
Q: How do you feel when you see these pictures? What will you do when you hear that an earthquake happens there? suppose you are a president of a country, and an earthquake happens in your country. What will you do?
Thus lead into the topic speech.
Step 2 Pre-speaking
1.Play a speech which is made by President Bush after a big earthquake hit India on the first day of New Year and ask students to pay attention to the structures of his speech: The introduction, Body and conclusion.
2.Ask students to read a letter of invitation and ask them to find out some detailed information of the invitation by asking the following questions and letting them have a discuss:
Q:What will the new park be opened for? What they will invite you to do? When? What should this speech should contain? How to express these sentences?
Step 3 While-speaking
1.Ask students to make a speech, give a speech to each other, and then have a competition.
2.Show students some stamps of new Tangshan and ask then to discuss in groups what had
to be done to rebuild a city after an earthquake.
Step 4 Post-speaking
Ask students to write down the speech they made and notice the format.
Step 5 summary homework
1. Sum up what we have learned today.
2. Homework
①finish the speaking part in workbook.
②Find more famous speech and stimulate it.
